HJERTELIG VELKOMMEN I KØBENHAVN –
WELCOME TO COPENHAGEN

EIC and its Danish Member Federation, Dansk Byggeri, welcome you to the Spring Conference 2017 in Copenhagen with a workshop on:

Sustainable Solutions for Urban Areas – Business Opportunities for European Contractors in the Light of the Sustainable Development Goals.

More than half of the world’s growing population lives in cities today and the percentage is expected to rise to two thirds by 2050. Therefore Sustainable Development Goal #11 calls for making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. Despite numerous planning challenges, well-managed cities can be incubators for innovation and ingenuity and key drivers of sustainable development according to the UN Agenda.

In the inter-active workshop we plan to involve participants as much as possible. Each of the three sessions will start with a short introduction, a presentation of a specific initiative which will be followed by a group discussion at each table. The workshop moderator will sum-up after each session based on the out-come of the debate at each table.

Please take note that contrary to previous conferences the workshop will start early in the morning at 09:00 hours and end with a working lunch which will be followed by the EIC General Assembly in the afternoon.

Topping the smart-city rankings, Copenhagen is celebrated for its bicycles, contemporary design and Nordic-centred cuisine. Denmark’s capital also offers a historic skyline, modern architecture, clean urban beaches and the famous Tivoli amusement park which opened more than 150 years ago.

We look forward to welcoming you to the EIC General Assembly and Workshop and wish you a pleasant stay in Copenhagen.
