European International Contractors and its Turkish Member Federation TCA (Turkish Contractors Association) welcome you to the EIC Autumn Conference 2018 in Çeşme, and to the associated workshop on:

Alternative Financing Options for Infrastructure Development in the Developing World.

We look forward to an exciting Workshop in which we shall analyse the opportunities for Infrastructure PPP schemes in the developing world, with a specific focus on Africa’s urgent infrastructure development needs, and to examine how Islamic Finance tools can be integrated into these financing schemes.

As part of our efforts to modernise our EIC Conference and to make our Workshop more interactive, EIC has set up a Conference App that allows for a comprehensive overview on programme and speakers as well as a quick set up of B2B meetings. Our location, Çeşme peninsula, is located in western Turkey in the province of İzmir. It is a famous summer retreat for the wealthy of Izmir since the end of the 19th century and today it is famed for its beautiful beach and hot thermal springs, some of which are in the sea. The town of Alaçatı, where our gala dinner shall be held, is known internationally as one of the best places to windsurf and hosts the world windsurfing championships every year.

Another historical site in Izmir is the ancient city of Ephesus which is an outstanding example of a Roman port city. Excavations have revealed grand monuments of the Roman Imperial period. Little remains of the famous Temple of Artemis, one of the “Seven Wonders of the World,” which drew pilgrims from all around the world. Since the 5th century, the House of the Virgin Mary, a domed cruciform chapel seven kilometres from Ephesus, became a major place of Christian pilgrimage.
