EIC joins CoST Initiative
EIC has become an official supporter of the CoST (Construction Sector Transparency) initiative. CoST is an international multi-stakeholder initiative to increase transparency and accountability in the construction sector, supported by the World Bank.
EIC President Démarre stated in this context: "EIC advocates fair and transparent competition for international construction projects followed by careful monitoring of the project implementation. We believe that CoST can make a critical contribution to advance reliable and efficient procurement practices and project delivery around the globe."
Apart from being used on the international level, EIC believes that the CoST initative should also be endorsed by the European Union in order to strenghten contract award and contract management practice within the EU, for instance in connection with infrastructure projects financed by the EU Structural Funds.
