EIC General Assembly elects Duccio Astaldi as new President
Duccio Astaldi, President of the Management Board of Condotte D’Acqua, was elected new EIC President.
On April 27, the EIC General Assembly has elected Duccio Astaldi, President of the Management Board of Italian maritime works and tunnel specialist Condotte D’Acqua S.p.A., as its new President. Mr. Astaldi has been on the EIC board since 2008 and will be serving a two-year president’s term. He succeeds Michel Démarre, senior international advisor of French contractor Colas, who headed the EIC board for four years and did not stand for re-election.
Mr. Astaldi was born in Milan in 1964 and was awarded his Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Rome in 1989. From 1989 to 2000, he worked as Project Manager for Astaldi S.p.A. and was responsible for international road and dam projects in Africa, Central America and Asia. In 1998, Mr. Astaldi became Deputy General Manager of the Foreign Operations Division before moving on in 2000 to Condotte d’Acqua where he started as Director of the Foreign Operations Department. Subsequently, he assumed several executive positions and, in July 2008, he became President of the Management Board.
The General Assembly elected Jules Janssen of Belgium’s Besix Group as new EIC Treasurer who will be taking over the position from Uwe Krenz. Mr. Janssen is a member of Besix's management board and holds the position of General Manager Construction.
